         We stand because of the bravery of the Fallen………….

 As we talk mainly of diamond and diamond rings let’s talk and think of other thoughts this weekend. The weekend will be filled with barbeques, sun filled days at the beach, fishing golfing and family get togethers we on Monday celebrate Memorial Day the day we honor those who gave their lives to protect us here at home.

  We all sleep at night while thousands of miles away there are brave men and women putting their lives on the line protecting what we hold dear. From the beaches of Normandy to the rice paddies of the Philippines and the far away mountains of Afghanistan these people proudly serve and have serve. So all I ask is that this weekend thank a soldier, hug a sailor, salute a marine, tell a pilot you’re proud of him. These people never ask for are thanks but they richly deserve it, I have family that has served and that are serving currently and I plan on honoring them, it’s time my little ones learn of this so this Monday we will attend the local Memorial Day Parade I will plant flags in their hands and lessons in the hearts of the bravery of these heroes that are before them. I’m sure that one day soon they will hold the pride and love of country that I and those I know do.

So my friends this weekend reach out to those that protect us they will appreciate it and you will be better for it!!!!!!!!!!

 It’s going to be a fun summer here at Shenoa and we invite all to become part of it. The advent of the warm weather warms everything up here. Also, starting with buy a Diamond Stud for Dad for Father’s day as well as our upcoming anniversary in July and many more specials throughout the summer.

 We are producing exciting new styles of Engagement Rings and Diamond Bands as we see the foot traffic heat up with the weather. Here at the store in New York, we are ready to welcome you and show all we have to offer. I’m sure you can find time and some money to spend for that special lady in your life. If you are the adventurous type sit-down with myself or one of my coworkers and we will design a special something just for you; whether it be a ring, diamond necklace or perhaps a spectacular pair of earrings. Got any old unused jewelry well you could pop out the diamonds trade in the gold and create a truly unique piece and you know what the gold scrap will go along way to paying for it.

All the pictures we’ve shared over the last year are custom made pieces they aren’t assembly lined manufactured in some out of the way place. We oversee our artisans who directly create everything and I mean everything locally from start to finish. As I’ve stated before you are an integral part of the process, that ladies and gentleman you can’t find in a major store or some distant online Company. There is no substitute for face to face you can’t touch things on a computer screen and you certainly don’t get the special attention in a big retailer or big box store that you can receive at Shenoa & CO.

 The cards were stacked with HEARTS………………………………….

 Well ladies and gentleman the ring pictured today I just finished and it is truly a work of art. Well heart shapes aren’t for everyone the stunning detail of this mounting is there for the eye to behold.

   Let’s talk about the stats the ring is handmade in platinum containing 326 round brilliant cuts (yes that’s 326!!) totaling 2.39cts as well as two gem round cut rubies sitting just under the culet. The diamonds are all gem quality D/E color VVS clarity set individually micro pave style the detail is unparalleled. The center stone is a rare find a perfectly cut 10ct something really special. This ring was created for one of Shenoa’s longstanding special customer let’s put it this way we have most of her fingers covered (thanks Virginia).

 While the picture and the stats say a lot the process in making the ring is what sets Shenoa Diamonds apart from all others. The customer and I worked hand ‘n’ hand with the model maker from the initial drawings through the wax models until the finished product. The devil’s in the details and if you take in all the views you will see the detail, you won’t see rings with this type of workmanship if you stroll the stores of 5th avenue.

 That’s what we are about here at Shenoa Diamonds we put that kind of blood and sweat into every ring that goes out our door our attention to detail is unmatched. Choices...

   Choices………………………..

  Through all our lives we are faced with choices. Some are welcome, others are not; it is in how we make our choices are we defined, from a small innocuous choice to a life changing option, they stitch the quilt which is us.

   Let’s talk today about one of the Life changing ones and that would be getting engaged, can anyone dispute that asking another to spend the rest of their lives with you is not life changing. I would beg to differ. When a person takes it upon themselves to present an engagement ring to that important someone it is one of life's defining moments, making it one important choice. How is this choice arrived at? Well, I’ll give you a timeline that I’ve seen more than once.

  It’ starts usually with the first date or unintended meeting, you hit it off and start to date. The relationship progresses over time to the point that you start to contemplate getting engaged now the choices come fast and furious. First you go kicking around some jewelry store looking at different style and shapes of diamonds, then it gets serious. You’ve made the decision to move forward you are going to buy an engagement ring and ask this person to marry you, to be with you forever. Pretty big one, right?

  Okay now you move forward to the actual purchase of the ring, you’ve decided on the shape and the style you’ve hunted down the perfect jeweler (Shenoa Diamonds) and together you create your engagement ring. Next, you need the perfect place to pop the question; whether it is that restaurant you had your first date in, or that secluded beach at sunset, the choice is yours.

  Finally, you announce your engagement to the world. Sometimes you ask the Father for permission, others announce in newspapers, while others just advertise by the diamond on their finger the best wishes and the OH MY God!’s are truly a reaction to behold.

  After the dust clears you realize the engagement leads itself to many other choices; the venue, the flowers, the entertainment, who’s going to sit next to Aunt Edna etc. As you can see a first date can lead to many choices and the engagement ring leads to more still, but I’ll choose to speak of those on another day!!!!!!!!

  While I tend to wax poetic about stories of jewelry and the people that buy them lets talk today about the establishment I so proudly work for, and that is Shenoa Diamonds. What does that mean you may ask? Well the word Shenoa roughly translates into ‘peace of mind’ and in my business that can mean the world.

  I often speak of the Shenoa experience being that we work harder for your business, we may not be big but we are big hearted with bigger thoughts. Here we know that a special shopping experience coupled with a special occasion can last a lifetime and we want to be part of that lifetime. Thankfully, I mention to many a man getting engaged that this is the first of many jewelry purchases and thankfully there is the fiancé on the receiving end of the ring that’s hopes and aspirations keep Shenoa afloat.

   We have all had unpleasant shopping experiences even at well known and promoted stores. It can be tiresome dealing with clerks that could really care less, or my favorite type the condescending ones; you know, the ones that look down their noses when you ask an innocent question or better yet the ones that make you feel like the question you asked is stupid and beneath them. Frankly I have to tell you these are the types that make my job and that of my co workers easier, because I always impress upon others it is easier to be nice, being miserable is work, hard work.

  That Shenoa & Co. , located in midtown Manhattan, affords me the chance to work with all kinds of people. Being located right off 5th Avenue allows me to work with people that have been ticked off by salespeople in some of the finest establishments in the world and I welcome it. Always treat people nice and it comes back in spades. Well, I have an ever-growing clientele that attests to it. Listen, I’m no threat to those big guns but they are a blessing to me.
