Diamonds Q&A - How to buy the perfect diamond for your budget

Hello all, Kerry Ryan here!

A little Diamond Q & A

Questions I’ve heard over the years and their answers…

- What is the most brilliant diamond?

The most brilliant diamond is the round brilliant cut because it’s the most symmetrical and the more symmetrical the more brilliant (FYI: the second most brilliant is a square radiant cut).

- What is the most expensive cut?

Again with all things being equal the round diamond is the most expensive (Two main reasons: 1- it’s the most in demand. 2- It’s the most expensive to manufacture).

- Which is the most important of the 4 C’s?

In my opinion and this is putting the size of the diamond aside (carat), the most important C is the cut (a diamond that is cut properly is brilliant with lots of fire, with that said the order is as follows:

Cut- we just discussed why.
Color- you want as white(colorless) as possible.
Clarity- if you don’t see it with the naked eye why worry.

Basically I’m saying pay for what you see not what you don’t.

- I like a round, my girlfriend likes a square cut what do you recommend?

Here is one of life’s lessons: get her what she WANTS (I’ve said this before Happy Wife=Happy Husband, a very simple formula -no added ingredients necessary).

- What happens if she says NO?

If you don’t know what the answer to that question you are in the wrong store you should be at the florist.

- What makes Shenoa Diamonds different then the other stores?

Well I’ll tell you, I feel we go the extra mile, we are customer service driven and with our attention to detail I feel we are unmatched, we may not be the cheapest but I can assure you we are the most thorough.

Well that is some of the questions and I can assure you there are more to be discussed in the future.

Have a great day!
