That’s what this ring is all about Shenoa Signature Series # 3. This handmade beauty features twenty round brilliant cut diamonds totaling 0.60cts. The ring is handcrafted in platinum (can be made in all metals); the diamonds are set “V” cut-down style (one of Shenoa Diamonds specialties). The center in the picture is a 2.50ct round brilliant cut, set with claw prongs, the head is hand-wire platinum contoured to the shape of the center. This diamond semi mount is versatile in that it works with all shapes by sticking to my first rule of thumb accentuating the center not competing. As with all the Signature Series it comes with a matching wedding band both exact or eternity style whatever your preference.

Happy Memorial Day! We thank our armed forces!

While I normally would write about diamonds, engagement rings or our clients, we approach a holiday weekend so if you’ll indulge me I would like to touch upon Memorial Day.

While we are planning our barbeques, picnics and days at the beach let us not forget what this holiday is truly about. Memorial Day is the day we honor our military, those living as well as those fallen. We must all remember that as we go about our lives there are fine men and women that are far from home whose sole intention is to keep us safe from harm while putting themselves in harms way. They don’t ask much and on top of it volunteer to do so, so it’s not asking much from us that we just remember these fine men and women on this holiday.

My wife and I come from a military background so it’s easy for us to hang our flag and call family and thank them for their service and to remember those we cannot thank in person.

So all I suggest is that you thank a soldier or a sailor or marine or airman for their service. It’s easy in New York; it’s fleet week. Hundreds of men and women to thank, on Monday there will be parades all over this great country of ours full of veterans, go up and shake their hands and thank them for keeping us safe, you’ll will be amazed how much those simple words can do.

Regardless of personal affiliations these people have earned and deserved our thanks and I plan on thanking a lot and encourage all of you to join me.

Reflections...

Had Mother’s Day at my house this past Sunday, an absolutely outstanding day from the weather to the company to the food, it could not have been more perfect. As I’ve told you all before I enjoy observing and this I did (besides cooking a hell of a barbeque).

We had three ladies; my Mother, my sister-in-law and of course my beautiful wife. I looked at the different jewelry they wore. Let’s start with my mother Lois; she was wearing a round diamond engagement ring with two (2) tapered baguettes in platinum (her original), an antique diamond ring (circa 1910) on her right hand. A petite diamond cross and gold earrings all understated but lovely.

My sister in law Denise; she was wearing a gold diamond engagement ring featuring a marquise diamond, slightly chunky popular style from the 80’s, large bangles on her wrists and large diamond hoop earrings.

My bride Jackie was featuring her engagement ring a three (3) stone beauty with a radiant-cut center set in platinum with princess cut sapphires on the side, a five stone diamond band with princess cuts shared prong style also in platinum, a diamond / sapphire eternity style band shared prongs set in white gold as well as diamond studs princess cuts.

The elegant ring pictured here, is in my opinion to become the next timeless piece. The split diamond shank in its subtle beauty enhances the center diamond in a graduating process that just says “Bang! Here I am, look at me”.


You’ll have to indulge me, I just have great passion for what I do and it spills over into my speech and writings.

This setting featured here is handmade in platinum containing 86 round brilliant cuts totaling 0.62 ct., the center diamond is a 2.50 cts. Radiant-cut. Set with claw prongs in a handmade wire basket.

The setting works with every shape diamond, that’s why it’s timeless, simply stated the ring compliments everything. The diamonds in the setting are set micro-pave style (there’s that word again, get used to it) individually so you see the brilliance of every diamond in the ring. The contours of the split shank allow for a full look without overwhelming the center stone. This is one of my personal mantras; always bring out the beauty of the center, don’t compete. The ring is handmade so you need to allow about two (2) weeks for the finished product.

At Shenoa Diamonds I’ve made this setting for other precious stones also and they would be Ruby and Sapphire and that includes pink and yellow as well as the blue variety. The shear versatility of this ring is why it will be around for eons. If you’re thinking of resetting your diamond, I would highly recommend this setting; it will make any stone look incredible.
