When seriously shopping for diamonds and diamond jewelry; the two key words are focus and concentration.

Hello All Kerry Ryan here!

Here is a hint that I recommend to all my customers and potential ones when seriously shopping for diamonds and diamond jewelry; the two key words are focus and concentration.

What I mean by this is you truly have to see your eye on the prize to get to the end game. So let’s talk about those two key words:

First focus; it means narrowing the field of choices fairly and quickly, when you’re seriously considering buying an engagement ring or an expensive piece of jewelry jumping from one type to another isn’t going to help you accomplish anything. Again the eye on the prize the field of selections should be narrowed to your top three choices making it easier to select a ring, pair of earrings, bracelet etc. When you’ve narrowed it to your top three you truly have no wrong choice.

How do you arrive there? Well by applying a fair amount of concentration, loose the outside distractions, concentrate on your likes and your feelings will lead you to the correct choices.

Ask yourself questions; do I like this on me?
Does this ring speak to my nature and style?
A real important question to ask oneself is; will I love it in five years?

These questions answered will lead you to focus and concentration and also thoroughly enjoyable buying experience.

When I am shopping myself I find that if the salesperson is distracted the buying experience is disjointed and unfulfilling. I too need focus and concentration to better serve you and work on these aspects daily to better serve you.

Have a great weekend!!

We enjoy being busy at Shenoa & Co. so come on down and we’ll get busy together!

Hello All!! Kerry Ryan here…

I was working this weekend in the store (1 west 47th street) and it was really busy. I realize that when I’m really involved with customers the hours just fly by.

We were creating a gorgeous sapphire and diamond ring (similar to ones pictured on top) the customer had their opinion and I helped by tweaking the design slightly nip here tuck there and over a short amount of time we came up with a beautiful ring that the customer’s wife is excited to be wearing (I can tell you I can never make them fast enough). Then it was on to a slightly nervous and unassuming couple form Ireland looking for an engagement ring but the catch was they were flying home by 3:00 o’clock. Okay so we narrowed the field in this case, I helped with the selection of the setting style after they settled on a round shape diamond, off to the jeweler for sizing and setting a quick polish, next stop Kennedy Airport! While I’m finishing up with the my Irish brethren in walk previous customers wanting to upgrade their setting for their diamond, after looking at a few options they settle on a handmade platinum solitaire custom fit and a matching wedding band.

What I’m driving at is it about how great it is to be working with you all and on all different types of jewelry needs. No project is too small and certainly none too large just talking, working, creating is so exciting and rewarding. I could never understand the person that prefers the sedate life not for me and certainly not for anyone at Shenoa & Co.

Like I said we enjoy being busy at Shenoa & Co. so come on down and we’ll get busy together!!!

Shenoa & Co. stimulus package for all existing and future clients.

Hello all, Kerry Ryan here!

Shenoa & Co. now offers its own version of a stimulus package to all existing and future clients.

Management has instructed all sales personnel to give out free gift cards, valued between $50- $100 at no obligation. Hey, you can’t argue about something that is free, not in this day and age, and at no obligation. How cool is that?

Perhaps it’s time to seriously look for that engagement ring or take a look at those diamond studs you’ve been thinking about. Maybe it’s a good time to get price quotes on that diamond pendant for mom! Let’s face it, can’t hurt to see the difference between a 4 carats classic basket style bracelet and a beautiful 5 carats 3 prong martini style. Promise, questions cost nothing and come now to be rewarded.

I invite any and all to stop by the store (if you don’t know the location it’s conveniently located in Midtown at 1 west 47th street 8 stores off from the 5th Ave.) Come in to introduce yourself to myself and my coworkers, we will enjoy meeting with you, talking about your wish lists and you’ll be rewarded for your time. Sometimes some of you state; I hope I’m not wasting your time, well I can assure you I enjoy talking and working with you and never ever consider any of it a waste of time.

People are our business at Shenoa & Co. and we mean to show it!

One last note, don’t think that for one minute we will forget our current customers who have made us what we are today, deserve the same if not more so we invite you also to stick your head in the store, something free is hard to come by so come get yours!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Shenoa & Co.

Hello All!!

Kerry Michael Ryan Here…

As you can tell by the name I’m just a wee bit Irish so on the eve of this fine day I wish all a very Happy St. Patrick’s Day. While we all aren’t Irish by birth, I recommend celebrating in kindred spirit on the 17th like you are yourself.

Let’s for one day forget the present troubles (as I have suggested before we will get through them) lift a pint, a cup of tea, or a glass of water and thank the stars for the blessings we have.

Kiss you wife, do a jig with your girlfriend, hug your children, call mom and dad tell them how much you love them, drop by say hello to the grandparents, basically bring some cheer into someone’s life on a day that cheer is celebrated world wide.

With grand intentions you’ll be surprised how life can shine like a diamond and sparkle through and through!!!!

So all you diamond lovers I invite you to join me tomorrow to celebrate in grand Irish traditions…

‘May the road rise to meet you…
May the wind be always at your back
A warm sun in your face
And may a gentle rain fall upon your fields……..

And most importantly…….

May you be in Heaven a half hour before the Devil knows you’re Dead!!!!

(In my case I’ll need a solid 45 minutes to an hour head start!!!)

HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY

What is the fifth "C" when shopping for diamonds?

Hello All!

Kerry Ryan here…..

Something to chew on……

When shopping for diamonds I see customers are concerned about the 4Cs (for the uninformed that’s Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carat weight). While educating yourself it is important not to loose sight of the most important C and that is the 5th C, the one that is too often discussed last, and what is it you ask?

It is COST; translation: How much do we wish to spend for our diamond engagement ring? You can look at different shapes, setting styles, diamond sizes but until you establish your comfort level for price (budget), you really won’t know what to zero in on.

How do you do that? Well when I’m working with customers, especially couples, you have to establish shape first (you’re only wearing one ring) then once that is done you move forward to the ring style. Here is a free hint, you will never and I mean never buy a maybe so if you say maybe I like it eliminated from your choices. This process is all about narrowing the field of options and in doing so the 5th C will magically present itself.

Don’t get me wrong, most potential customers have an idea of what they wish to spend but for those that don’t; this is probably a good rule of thumb to live by.

Have a great weekend, I’m in the store Saturdays so stop in and say hello, it would be great to see you!!!

Let's make magic: Dig around in those jewelry boxes, come in to Shenoa & Co. and let’s see what we can pull out of the hat!

Hello All,

Kerry Ryan here with a few tidbits…

One of the more interesting aspects of my job is what I call working magic. You may ask yourself what is that, well I’ll tell you. It is when a customer comes in with an old and/or unwanted piece of jewelry and instead of turning it into 10 cents on the dollar we design and make a relevant, readily wearable piece of jewelry.

One of the rings I made was similar to the picture you see now, the customer brought in an old diamond ring we broke it apart put our heads together on a design and in a matter of 2 weeks the customer leaves with a brand new ring that they were absolutely thrilled with.

See where I’m going here you don’t always have to buy something brand new and old jewelry doesn’t always have to be regulated to the bottom of an old dusty jewelry box. You can create a beautiful ring, necklace, earring etc. that you will wear and wear proudly. I can’t begin to tell you how many compliments the customers that I have done this for and in turn the many recommendations I and Shenoa have received by redesigning old jewelry.

Don’t forget the best part about it is you are directly involved in the whole process from start to finish that’s the magic we both get to pull rabbits out of the hat. All kidding aside it is a great avenue to be pursued and a great personal experience.

So dig around those jewelry boxes come in to Shenoa and let’s see what we can pull out of the Hat!!!!

Like I said let’s make some magic…

Shenoa & Co., - We are in the Happy Wife/Girlfriend business...

Hello All,

Kerry Ryan Here!

Here’s a thought…

Engagement ring shopping should be an enlightened and fun experience, do you hear that? enlightened and fun experience. As I’ve said before we tend to over think things in all aspects of our lives, keeping things simpler can make this shopping experience much more enjoyable.

One of the easiest recommendations is to find out what your fiancĂ© likes, let’s face it she’s the one wearing it; she’s the one showing it off proudly, be the hero get her what she wants!! My wife doesn’t pick my golf clubs and I don’t pick her hairstyle, what she likes is perfectly fine with me.

Here’s the hint of the week; Happy Wife/Girlfriend = Happy Husband/Boyfriend that math always adds up.

Come in to Shenoa & Co. this weekend, we are in the Happy Wife/Girlfriend business!!!

Like I said just a thought…

Sick of Winter yet?

Hi All!

Kerry Ryan here! I d
on’t know about you but I am sick of winter!! I may be in the business of delivering “ice” but I’ll tell you I’m sick of shoveling it, tired of bundling up just want to soak up some sun!!

I guess warm thoughts will have to do….

It’s March so we all know that eventually it is going to get warm (you wouldn’t be able to tell that by the 0 degree wind chills outside). I also know that this is a time couples traditionally look for engagement rings and wedding bands.

That means ”June Brides”, now that’s a warming thought; I mean it will be warm in June right? Okay so if we go with that thought process it means couples are planning spring and summer weddings (feel where I’m going here) and in turn spring and summer engagements.

Okay so as my frozen fingers are typing this I’m planning on helping you with those Spring / Summer weddings and engagements!!!!

Like I said warm thoughts……
