What is the fifth "C" when shopping for diamonds?

Hello All!

Kerry Ryan here…..

Something to chew on……

When shopping for diamonds I see customers are concerned about the 4Cs (for the uninformed that’s Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carat weight). While educating yourself it is important not to loose sight of the most important C and that is the 5th C, the one that is too often discussed last, and what is it you ask?

It is COST; translation: How much do we wish to spend for our diamond engagement ring? You can look at different shapes, setting styles, diamond sizes but until you establish your comfort level for price (budget), you really won’t know what to zero in on.

How do you do that? Well when I’m working with customers, especially couples, you have to establish shape first (you’re only wearing one ring) then once that is done you move forward to the ring style. Here is a free hint, you will never and I mean never buy a maybe so if you say maybe I like it eliminated from your choices. This process is all about narrowing the field of options and in doing so the 5th C will magically present itself.

Don’t get me wrong, most potential customers have an idea of what they wish to spend but for those that don’t; this is probably a good rule of thumb to live by.

Have a great weekend, I’m in the store Saturdays so stop in and say hello, it would be great to see you!!!
